Born and raised in
Portland, Oregon. As a youth, I lived in Northeast
Portland. I was involved in many sports and as a
result I grew to know the Eastside neighborhoods very
well. My first painting experience was with my
grandfather. He taught me basic painting skills and an
honest, hard work ethic.
In 1978 my parents
purchased a home in Lake Oswego. At first I thought
this was a world away, but after a short while I grew to
really like my new community.
The summer between my
freshman and sophomore school year, I discovered I needed
money. A friend of mine was working for a painter, and
soon I landed a job with him also. Every summer and
after school I would work and really learn the painting
profession.
At the end of my
senior year I was really thinking hard about what I was
going to do with the rest of my life, and since I seemed to
be making good money I continued to paint for another three
years for him.
After many sleepless
nights, I decided to venture out on my own. These
years to follow were very hard for me. I then met
another painter who gave me the opportunity to make not only
great money, but basically to run the show. It was
here where I learned the business end of painting.
Soon thereafter, I started Ken's Painting
Unlimited.
Through all of this, I
learned to give people the best possible job at an
affordable price. I soon met the woman of my dreams
and got married. We started a family, and with their
support my business has grown to what it is today. I
now live in Southwest Portland with my beautiful wife and
two beautiful
children.
